A global product development strategy firm founded as a result of the incredible growth of South Florida's technology and innovation industries and its leading footprint nationally and internationally as a new epicenter for forward thinking design.

We specialize in Product Development strategy. This comprises Brand Strategy, Industrial Design, Design for Manufacturing, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, UI/UX, Full stack software development, Intellectual Property, Manufacture Sourcing, Multi-Tier Prototyping and Business Development.

With a collective 35 years of experience with in the product development industry, we assist our clients by leveraging our unique development experiences, partners and creative processes to help successfully design, engineer and launch programs across many different industries.

At Aurora we leverage our extensive experience developing programs for private equity firms, early stage and VC funded startups, multinational brands, private inventors, and fellow development firms. Lead Industrial designer 

   

Industrial design lead on new product development in the specific product categories and innovation
Streamline product and industrial design development processes for CPS's private label brands and lead key innovation initiatives;  focus on increased ROI with new innovations;  work directly with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to find forward-thinking solutions to HVAC/R and automotive technician problems;  interact directly with domestic and international sales, vendor and marketing teams to discover optimal design, consumer insights, innovation and MSRP solutions;  report to VP of Engineering and regularly participate in senior leadership strategy meetings.   

 

Achievements:

•     Fully designed ID and built the TR-600 Recovery Machine

•     Fully designed ID and built the (HP) High Pressure Cool Smoke Machine 

•     Fully designed ID and engineered the CCD110 Refrigerant Charging Scale

•      Fully designed ID of SVW (Solenoid Valve Wireless) HVAC Smart Solenoid

•     Designed the exterior of Gen2 TPSPD Surge Protector

•      Fully designed and assisted mechanical engineering of VP15W Bluetooth Vacuum Pump

•     Led CPS LINK version rebuild of mobile application UI/UX product validation testing

Senior Industrial Designer

 

Lead Senior Industrial Designer with Office Depot's Own Brand Product and 
Innovation Development Team 
Designed and managed product development programs such as office furniture, 
lighting, tech, cut and sew and seating.  All products were under Office Depot's 
private label brands (Ativa Mobile IT, Ativa,  Realspace, Realspace Pro, Foray.) 
Interacted with merchant and buyer teams, as well as the quality teams within 
specific product categories, thereby streamlining product development processes
from project kick-off to engineering to in-store launch.

   Achievements and major priorities :

•      Led development on the Ativa brand design language and innovation

•      Developed the brand identity and equity with the in-house branding team 

•      Lead designer on the ATIVA 10M micro shredder

•      Lead designer on celebrity TV and movie star Nick Cannon's Ncredible brand for

•      BTS (Back to School) bags and accessories;  worked directly with lead merchant, marketing and vendor teams to             develop a unique design experience and successful execution for children’s backpacks

•      Interacted with foreign and domestic manufacturing teams;  worked directly with Office Depot's Chinese production           and sourcing offices to streamline design

•      Named as inventor on Ativa 10m shredder, United States Patent D715354

   Managed internship program with the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale
   Worked hand-in-hand with the engineers to create ready-to-go design files for
   production
   Led design process and development in collaboration with Jarden Consumer Solutions   
   on $5 million program for Walmart Inc in the vacuum seal industry 
   Led product development, POP and packaging design;  Walmart program was sold in 
   store under the Rival brand license  
   Led a 2009 Summer/ Fall sponsorship with the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale's 
   Advanced Product Design class;  sponsorship led to two designs being chosen and one 
   making the retail floor; worked with 20+ students and directed design evolution to final design

  Full time Industrial Designer with Motorola CXD (customer experience design) team part of the Mobile Device division.

  Worked on (CMF) boards and organization

  Designed future concept phones for the iDEN line

  Worked directly with Brazilian design team on future concept phones.

  Helped design and create working files in SolidWorks to be made in inhouse model shop for proof
  of design prototyping signs.
